ZODIAC GLYPH

The symbol of the Bull represents strength, determination, and a deep connection to the earth and the senses. It is the second sign of the Zodiac.

Ruled by the planet Venus, Taurus embodies beauty, stability, and material abundance.

Mythological Origins

In Greek mythology, the Taurus constellation is most famously associated with the story of Zeus and Europa.

Zeus, the king of the gods, was captivated by the beauty of Princess Europa. To approach her without causing alarm, he transformed himself into a magnificent, gentle white bull with horns like a crescent moon.

Charmed by the beautiful creature, Europa adorned him with flowers and eventually climbed onto his back. Seizing the moment, Zeus (as the bull) swiftly carried her across the sea to the island of Crete.

There, he revealed his true identity. Europa became the first queen of Crete, and Zeus immortalized the form of the noble bull among the stars as the constellation Taurus.

Some myths also link Taurus to the Cretan Bull, a beast captured by the hero Heracles as one of his legendary labors.
