๐Ÿ›๏ธ The Myth of the Golden Ram

The story begins with the children of the cloud nymph Nephele: Prince Phrixus and Princess Helle. Their stepmother plotted their demise, but their mother sent a divine, flying ram with golden fleece to rescue them.

As they flew east, Helle fell into the sea (the Hellespont). Phrixus safely reached Colchis, where he sacrificed the ram to Zeus and gave its priceless Golden Fleece to the king. This very fleece later became the quest of Jason and the Argonauts.

In honor of its sacrifice, Zeus placed the ram's image among the stars as the constellation Aries.
