The Fiery Pioneer

Aries, spanning from March 21 to April 19, marks the beginning of the astrological year. Represented by the Ram, this cardinal fire sign embodies initiative, courage, and an unquenchable thirst for adventure. In Greek mythology, the story of Aries is intertwined with a legendary quest and a magical fleece.

"Bold, passionate, and driven, the Aries individual charges forward with the fearless spirit of the golden-horned Ram from the tales of old."

The Myth of the Golden Fleece

The constellation Aries is linked to the myth of the Golden Fleece. This was the fleece of the winged, gold-haired ram Chrysomallus, sent by the gods to save the children of the cloud nymph Nephele: Phrixus and Helle.

As the siblings fled their stepmother's treachery, Helle fell into the sea (the Hellespont), but Phrixus safely reached Colchis. In gratitude, he sacrificed the ram to Zeus and presented its Golden Fleece to King Aeëtes, who placed it in a sacred grove guarded by a dragon.

This very fleece later became the quest of the hero Jason and his Argonauts, cementing the Ram's place in legend and, ultimately, in the stars as the constellation Aries.
