How to Draw the Mew Taurus Sign
A guide to sketching the celestial bull with a fresh, modern twist.
The Taurus sign, symbolized by the Bull, represents stability, patience, and a connection to the earth. The "Mew" style introduces softer lines and a more playful, contemporary feel to this classic astrological symbol.
You Will Need
- White drawing paper
- A pencil (HB or 2B)
- A fine liner or ink pen
- An eraser
- Colored pencils or pastels in light shades (cream, light brown, sky blue, soft gold)
Drawing Steps
The Base Circle
Lightly sketch a perfect circle. This will be the main boundary for your symbol. Keep your hand loose for a soft look.
Outline the Bull's Head
Inside the top half of the circle, draw a simplified, rounded bull's head shape. Think of a wide "U" form for the face.
Add the Signature Horns
From the top sides of the head, draw two curved lines that arch upwards and slightly inwards. In the "Mew" style, make these horns plump and friendly, not sharp.
Facial Features
Draw two large, gentle eyes and a simple, calm mouth. The expression should be serene and kind, capturing Taurus's grounded nature.
Ink & Refine
Once satisfied with your sketch, go over the final lines with your fine liner. Let the ink dry, then gently erase all pencil marks.
Add Light Color
Using your light-colored pencils, add subtle shading. Consider soft earth tones for the bull and a wash of pale blue or gold for the background circle.
