The Capricorn Constellation
The Sea-Goat Among the Stars
Capricornus: A Symbol of Ambition
Capricorn, represented by the mythical Sea-Goat, is one of the oldest and most distinct constellations in the zodiac. Its stars form a subtle but compelling pattern in the southern sky, symbolizing determination, discipline, and the climb to great heights.

Myth & Symbolism
In Greek mythology, Capricorn is associated with Pan, the god of the wild. To escape the monster Typhon, Pan leaped into a river, intending to transform into a fish. Only his lower half changed, resulting in the hybrid Sea-Goat.
This duality represents the Capricorn spirit: grounded and ambitious like the mountain goat, yet intuitive and deep like the creature of the sea. The constellation reminds us of resilience and the ability to navigate both material and emotional worlds.
“The stars of Capricorn do not blaze, but endure. Their light is the light of patience and achieved structure.”
Finding Capricorn in the Sky
Look for Capricornus in the evening sky during late summer and autumn. It lies in a region often called the "Sea," neighbored by Aquarius and Sagittarius. Its stars form a distinctive triangular pattern often described as a "boat" or a "smiling face." Best viewed from southern latitudes, it remains a rewarding target for stargazers seeking celestial wisdom.
